About Natalie

Capturing that unguarded moment, Natalie creates heartfelt portraits of children and families. This is what she loves. Telling the story of each family she works with, her portraits reveal who her subjects are. Her inner passion inspires her to create portraits that transcend a simple visual record. Imbued with the essence of her subjects, her images create an indelible mark in time.

Natalie’s soulful portraits can be found on the walls of fine homes across the country, and she has worked with several well known personalities, such as former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber. Her work has been featured in nominee gift baskets at the Academy Awards, and publications such as Town and Country. She has photographed the family of a very successful Hollywood producer, and others in that industry.

Because of the personal, attentive relationships she forms with each portrait client, Natalie can only work with a limited number of families each year. Her reputation for offering a hassle-free experience, her excellent taste, and care for her client’s needs has garnered trust from a select group of discerning clients.

Although the studio is located in Roanoke, Virginia, many of Natalie’s clients live elsewhere. Clients have commissioned portraits in New York City, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Hilton Head Island, Palm Beach, and Los Angeles, to name just a few locations. Natalie accepts both national and international commissions.

 

 

 

Natalie has been a photographer for as long as she can remember. Fortunate to discover such a passion early in her life, her real passion has always been to photograph people. Always finding subjects among her family, friends and neighbors, she was the one with the camera. In her free time, she loves to try new artistic styles of photography, and passionately seeks out new subjects while traveling.

Natalie studied interior design at Rhode Island School of Design. There she discovered the great artists, and fell in love with Impressionism. She has furthered her studies of art and photography at RISD, Massachusetts College of Art, Winona School of Photography in Atlanta, Texas School of Photography, and the renowned Santa Fe Workshops. Natalie’s accolades include receiving a Getty Images Scholarship, and she passionately continues to hone her craft by studying under master portrait photographers.

Originally from the Boston area, Natalie makes her home in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Roanoke, Virginia. She and her husband Tim – her knight in her shining armor – enjoy family and friends, traveling, good food and wine, and renovating their 1916 home. Natalie considers Tim indispensable in capturing the kind of images she does, since they work together on almost all portrait sessions. Tim shares Natalie’s enthusiasm for capturing a family’s spirit in beautiful portraits.
